Apathy

What happens when - we live this life, and one day we are dead and gone?

I was reminded of this, when I looked at my life. In pursuit of trivial pleasures.

I wake up each day, go to work, meet family, friends. Life is beautiful. Each day, I’m reminded of the countless blessings I have received.

Life goes on. Somewhere, a child is killed. An elderly person falls on the street, sick, alone and defeated. People are slaughtered, some for their faith, some for mindless human gain.

Can I look at someone and judge them when I have spent my life living in apathy? What is worse? Apathy or cruelty?
